We agree that spoken language underpins the development of reading and writing. A range of opportunities are woven into our English journeys through discussion, debate, improvisation, explanation and drama. Children are encouraged to develop their understanding of purpose and audience for spoken language as well as written language.
As a school, we are constantly responding to the latest research to enable our children to have the best start in life.
