  • Safeguarding

Safeguarding determines the actions that we take to keep children safe and protect them from harm in all aspects of their school life. As a school, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of our pupils.

The actions that we take to prevent harm; to promote wellbeing; to create safe environments; to educate on rights, respect and responsibilities; to respond to specific issues and vulnerabilities all form part of the safeguarding responsibilities of the school. As such, this overarching policy will link to other policies which will provide more information and greater detail.

    What if school is closed?

During times when the school is closed at weekends, after school hours or during holiday periods, we would first recommend, where you have significant concern for a child's safety, to contact Children's Services. Please contact Children’s Services on 0300 555 1384 or the Police on 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency).

For more information on reporting child abuse, please visit the Hampshire County Council: Reporting Child Abuse page.

We also provide a separate email that will be checked only during holiday periods. To contact the school with a child safety concern please use: safeguarding@weeke.hants.sch.uk using the subject line of CHILD-SAFEGUARDING. As DSL, we will assess this and respond accordingly. However, do not always expect a reply, but know that the email has been read.

We are a Wi-Fi Friendly School.

This recognises that our online systems effectively filter and monitor online content in line with DfE and Keeping Children Safe in Education criteria.

Any information and documentation on our school website can be requested as a paper copy (free of charge) from the school office. Printing and providing the information may take up to 2 working days.
