At Weeke Primary School, from the start of the Autumn term we are excited to announce our partnership with Edwards & Ward for our school meals. Our aim is to provide nutritious, delicious, and locally sourced meals that support your child's growth and learning.

School Meal Options

Important Lunchbox Guidelines

• Nut and Sweet Restrictions: To ensure the safety of all children, please do not include nuts or sweets in lunchboxes, as they pose choking hazards and serious health risks.

• Beverage Policy: Children may bring squash or juice in a bottle or carton, but these can only be consumed during lunchtime. Only plain water is permitted in class.

• Prohibited Items: Please note that fizzy drinks, thermos flasks, and glass containers are not allowed in school.

Changes to Free School Meals Eligibility 

From the start of the 2026/27 academic year, FSM eligibility is expanding to all children from households in receipt of Universal Credit regardless of household earnings.  Free School Meals are available to pupils in receipt of, or whose parents are in receipt of, one or more of the following benefits:

.              Universal Credit

.              support under Part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999

A pupil is only eligible to receive a free school meal where both:

.              a claim for this support has been made

.             their eligibility has been verified by the school where they are enrolled or by the                   local Authority.

Targeted Free School Meals are for those families who claim Universal Credit but their income is less than £7,400 per year.  The school will receive additional funding for those children, which can be used for subsidising Residential trips. 

Extended Free School Meals are for those families who claim Universal Credit regardless of their income, there is no additional funding for these families. 

How to Apply for Free School Meals?

You can check your eligibility for free school meals through a new online service. To complete a check, you'll need:

• Name, home address, and email address
• National Insurance Number or National Asylum Support Service reference number
• Child's name, date of birth, and school

How do I pay for my child's meal?

Working alongside Edward & Ward we will update our systems and all payments for lunches will go through the Parent Arbor App. In order to ensure your child gets a meal regularly, please keep up with payments on your Arbor account. Unless eligible for Free School meals, we are not able to cover or subsidise the cost.  The cost of a school dinner for KS2 children will be £3.10 from September. 

Medical Special Diets

To ensure the health and safety of every child, please complete the allergy QR code (see below) for each allergy. Our new catering company is starting their records from scratch, so we need your help to provide accurate information. Even if you've shared this before, we ask that you fill out a form for every allergy.
