A Typical School Day At Weeke

Arriving At School

Children are supervised by staff on the playground from 8.30am until 8.40am when the morning bell rings. We ask that children are not dropped off at school before 8.30 a.m. as we cannot accept responsibility for your child before this time. Once children are in their classrooms, they are registered promptly and settle quickly into morning routines, including working on key skills, small group teaching intervention groups or 1:1 sessions. It is therefore essential that children arrive at school on time. Children arriving after the doors have been locked at 8.50am need to be brought to the main entrance and signed in. They will be marked as ‘late’.

Please note, in Year R we follow the early Years Foundation Stage therefore the structure of the Early Years is more fluid and children have continual access to the outdoor areas – children do not have set sessions. Children in year R will begin to join other children at break times towards the end of the year.

Children in year R go for their lunch at 11.50am and the year groups are then staggered throughout the lunch break. Once children have finished their lunch, they have time to play outside.

We ask that children who go home for lunch return no earlier than 5 minutes before the start of the afternoon session.
